Panthers Part Ways with Head Coach Frank Reich
[City, State] – [Date] – The Carolina Panthers have announced that they have relieved Head Coach Frank Reich of his duties, effective immediately. The decision comes after the Panthers' 1-10 start to the 2023 NFL season.
"After careful consideration, we have decided to make this change," said Panthers Owner David Tepper. "We appreciate Frank's efforts and contributions to the organization, but we believe that it is in the best interest of the team to move in a different direction."
Reich, who was hired as the Panthers' head coach in January 2023, compiled a 1-10 record in his first season with the team. The Panthers' offense struggled under Reich's leadership, ranking among the worst in the league in scoring and total yards.
"I want to thank the Panthers organization for the opportunity to be their head coach," said Reich. "I'm disappointed with the results, but I wish the team all the best in the future."
The Panthers will name an interim head coach in the coming days.
