Dallas Stars community initiatives reaching kids in Mexico City

 ## Bringing hockey to Mexico City: Dallas Stars score for kids

The Dallas Stars aren't just a winning hockey team. They are also a team dedicated to growing the sport they love. With a brand new program in Mexico City, their community initiatives are expanding beyond the Lone Star State!

This spring, the stars launched a "learn to play" program for children ages 4 to 10 in Mexico City. This six-week program offers a great introduction to hockey, giving kids the chance to experience the thrill of skating, shooting and learning the fundamentals of the game.

This initiative is not happening in isolation. The Stars have partnered with the National Hockey League (NHL) to bring hockey equipment and expertise to Mexico City. This support ensures that the program has the resources it needs to succeed.

But the star community's efforts don't stop at the border. Their "Stars of the Future" program is thriving in Dallas, expanding from just two locations in 2023 to nine locations this year! The program reaches out to underserved communities, introduces hockey to schools and facilities, and provides children with the equipment they need to play.

These initiatives have a common goal: to introduce the game of hockey to a wider audience, instilling love for the game in future generations. By offering an accessible program and top-notch equipment, the Dallas Stars are helping kids discover the joys of hockey, both in their own backyard and south of the border.

This program is a win-win for everyone involved. Kids get a chance to learn a new sport, develop teamwork skills, and have some fun. The stars, in turn, are helping to grow the game they love and potentially find the next hockey superstar - maybe even from Mexico City!
